What processes are currently in place to hear from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members?

Member focus groups have been held to identify and explore issues facing Super SA members and how Super SA may be able to better meet their needs in terms of products, services and communication. Focus groups in metro and regional South Australia have involved groups of Aboriginal people who have presented their views on the services Super SA provides.

Super SA also conducts hundreds of worksite visits in metropolitan Adelaide and regional areas in South Australia each year. Our Member Education Officers visit members in their work environments to provide information about their superannuation and insurance entitlements and to receive feedback.

Our Member Education Officers regularly visit the Department of Communities and Social Inclusion to present to the new aboriginal employees on super and are building a relationship with the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation.

Super SA has presented at the AEU Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and the Upper Spencer Aboriginal Educators Conferences.

We encourage Aboriginal public sector employees to be involved in our photo shoots and other communication activities.
