New low‑cost investment options now available

1 December 2025

From 1 December 2025, Super SA is expanding its investment offering with two new low-cost, indexed options: Indexed Balanced and Indexed High Growth. These options are available to members with funds in Triple S, Super SA Select, and Income Stream.

We know that many members are looking for simple, cost-effective ways to invest their super. These new options are designed to meet that need, offering market exposure with minimal fees.

What is an indexed investment option?

An indexed investment option aims to match the performance of a market index, such as a share market index, rather than trying to outperform it. This approach is known as passive investment management, and it typically involves lower fees than actively managed options.

Super SA’s indexed options invest in a mix of asset classes, including Australian Equities, International Equities, and Fixed Income, that are selected to reflect market performance and risk.

What returns can I expect?

The new indexed options aim to deliver long-term returns in line with the below objectives, with low fees:

  • Indexed Balanced – aims for a return of CPI + 2.5%
  • Indexed High Growth – aims for a return of CPI + 3.0%

Both options are anticipated to have total investment fees and transaction costs of just 0.09% p.a.*

How is this different from other investment options?

Most other Super SA investment options (excluding Cash) use active management strategies, where investment managers aim to outperform the market by selecting specific assets. While this can potentially lead to higher returns, it also generally involves higher fees.

Who might prefer these new options?

The new indexed options may be suitable for members who:

  • Have an investment horizon of 10 or more years
  • Prefer a low-cost, diversified investment strategy
  • Are seeking long-term market index returns.
