About myID

What is myID?

myID is the Australian Government’s Digital ID app which allows users to securely prove who they are when accessing government online services. When making a payment request with Super SA, you'll need to use myID with at least Standard identity strength.

Learn more about identity strength on the myID help page: How to set up myID

How do I get the myID app?

To download the myID app, visit the official website: myid.gov.au

You'll find links to download the app for both Apple and Android devices, plus setup instructions.

How do I use the myID app for Super SA forms?

First, you’ll need to download the myID app to your device and follow the instructions to set it up to at least a Standard strength.

Then, when you're completing a digital form with Super SA, you'll be asked to use a Digital ID such as the myID app to verify your identity. Here's how it works:

  1. Select ‘Continue with Digital ID’ as your verification method
  2. Select myID as your identity provider
  3. Enter your email, then select Get code
  4. Log in to your myID app and enter the 4-digit code

Why do I need to verify my identity to submit my digital form?

If you're completing a digital form with Super SA that requires a higher level of security, your identity must be verified digitally. This is done securely through the Australian Government’s myID app.

Digital identity verification helps protect your personal information and ensures that only you can access and submit your details online. It’s a quick and secure step that’s required for certain online forms.

How do I reach Standard identity strength with myID?

For a Standard identity strength, you need to verify your ID in the app with any 2 of the following Australian documents:

• passport (an Australian passport, either current or no more than 3 years expired)
• driver’s licence or learner’s permit
• birth certificate
• visa (using your foreign passport)
• ImmiCard
• citizenship certificate
• Medicare card (this option appears after you verify one of the above documents).

What if I don’t want to use the myID app?

Using myID is the quickest and easiest way to verify your identity online. But if you prefer not to use the app, you can still complete a paper version of the relevant Super SA form. Just remember to include certified proof of identity when you submit it.

You can find all Super SA forms here. Read the Proof of Identity Information sheet here.
